Nursery Promo Video Production: Little Peanuts in Action
Project Overview
One year after launch (using the logo and visual identity I had designed for them), Little Peanuts approached me to produce a short promotional video for them to use on their website and social media platforms.
Since launch, the rooms and activities had developed under the steering of the Nursery Manager and the building was now full of children — something I hadn’t had the luxury of when producing pre-launch marketing and publicity material.
Armed with a rough storyboard of shots I wanted to capture from spending the previous day at the nursery taking photographs and shooting video before opening hours, I proceeded to spend the entire (hot and sunny) day capturing as much footage as I could that would best represent the nursery, the expansive grounds, the forest school and the children at play*. The Nursery Manager had planned a series of events and scenarios for the children to enable me to capture footage of them taking part in various activities.
Little Peanuts were keen to include aerial shots of the grounds so I sourced a drone operator who spent a few hours capturing some incredible shots while I was there with a list of shots I wanted him to film.
I edited the footage down to two and half minutes after selecting an appropriate piece of licenced music to cut to.
On a personal note, I have fond memories of spending my day at the nursery where I got to see first-hand how much fun the children have in the big rooms with interesting objects to play with, the beautiful grounds and the forest area.
*A selection of parents had authorised the use of their children in Little Peanuts’ publicity video and photo material.
